PROJECT:

FACEBOOK WATCH: LIMETOWN

For Facebook Watch’s Limetown, a limited series produced by Jessica Biel, we brought the story into the real world with an immersive activation on the Santa Monica Pier. Inspired by a key scene, the experience placed guests inside the unsettling world of the show by giving them a good jump-scare.

AGENCY: GIANT SPOON

MY ROLE:

CREATIVE STRATEGIST

After watching an NDA prescreening of the entire show, our team selected several scenes and sets that could become an easy to execute experiential build.

ABOUT THE SHOW:

Limetown is a mystery thriller that follows Lia Haddock, a journalist investigating the unexplained disappearance of over 300 people from a secretive neuroscience research facility in Tennessee.

HOW IT WORKED:

This is a loose recreation of the investigation room from Limetown. In one of the most harrowing scenes, someone tries to knock down a door with their head. Inside the recreation of this door is a proximity sensor attached to a mallet that swings to make the door rattle and scare whoever is looking through the peephole.

As the crowd gathered, we were able to adjust how often the banging was triggered so no one knew when the next scare would happen.

Due to the secretive nature of the show, we worked very closely with the Facebook Watch's art department to get key images we could use to create an authentic investigation board without giving away any details.
